The Big Map, Redux

Last summer, I did up a big Google map showing the various teams of the KHL and VHL, and I’m happy to say that it is finally updated for 2016-17.  The map itself, and a couple of notes, below the jump!

A couple of very quick notes:

  • Only one change on the KHL side (blue pins), that being the addition of Kunlun Red Star Beijing.  Now, the Google map of Beijing does not line up with the Google satellite image of Beijing, at least not very well; in fact, it’s about 700 yards off by eye.  However, the little blue pin is about where it should be, so on we go.
  • For the VHL teams (red pins), I’ve removed VDV-Zvezda Dmitrov, who folded midway through the 2015-16 campaign, and added newcomers Dynamo St. Petersburg.  The latter will share the Yubileiny Sports Palace with SKA-Neva St. Petersburg, farm team of SKA.
  • Next up on the mapmaking front will be a map of the junior teams in the Russian leagues, and there will also be a map of the Women’s Hockey League squads at some point too.

Enjoy!
