Mozyakin Breaks the Record!

And with that, Metallurg Magnitogorsk’s Sergei Mozyakin has scored more goals than anyone else in the history of the Soviet and Russian hockey leagues.  His goal at 2:36 of the third period against Dinamo Minsk today was Mozyakin’s 429th, putting him one ahead of former Central Red Army and USSR national team captain Boris Mikhailov.  Vid above, and the history books will show that Jan Kovář and Chris Lee earned assists, while the victimized goalie was Ben Scrivens.

More on the goal, Mozyakin, and Mikhailov tomorrow, but in the meantime, congratulations Sergei Valeryevich!
